Known only from the type collection by Wurdak in 1962 (perhaps others but not recorded) as reported from the vicinity of Alta Amazonas, slopes of Cerros Campanaquiz at Pongo de Manseriche in the state of Loreto, Peru. A handsome plant with a bulbous shape, dark, strap shaped, chestnut brown leaves, bearing fairly stout
