This Blair Athol from North Star was the first single malt (some blends were released at an earlier date by Chivas and Dewars) finished in Mezcal that could legally be called Scotch Whisky after the rule change by SWA and is therefore quite a historic bottle

Tormore 14y/o 2007 SMWS 105.35 'Genuine Italian Fake' 58.5%ABV 30ml This Blair Athol from NorthHere is a Tormore from SMWS matured in a 1st fill bourbon barrel for 14 years. SMWS notes: The nose made it immediately apparent this was a slight deviation from this distillerys usual profile. This was firmer and richer than we were used to. Lots of canvass, touches of soot, embrocation, vapour rubs, waxed parchment and mineral oils with lemon bubble gum. Reduction brought breakfast cereals dusted with icing sugar, tiramisu, greengages, dried flowers
