A rosette of narrow, deep green, fairly soft leaves with spiny margins, the center flushes pure white at anthesis, suggesting its name; lactea (milky). Rare in cultivation, needs open shade, moist conditions and protection from cold temps though cool temps are okay. Prefers bright filtered light.
