and then fired in the kiln at 2380°F

leaving the smooth clay for you to hold

The clay body is a warm sandy ceramic stoneware with dark speckles

When they were dry enough to handle, the design was carved by hand using the sgraffito technique revealing the contrasting clay underneath. They were then fired in the kiln at 2170F.
