(GLB) The Girls Life Brigade - membership badge (1950’s / 1960’s) Queen 500 presented in this packThe Girls Life Brigade (GLB) was originally founded in Ireland in 1893, later in England in 1902 by the National Sunday Schools Union (NSSU) and in Scotland 1900 as The Girls Guildry. They operated as Christian organisations for young women on the scouting model and in 1965 all three were amalgamated to form the Girls Brigade. The original aim of the GLB was stated as to help encourage girls to become responsible self reliant, useful young women. GLB
