Description

The two components were matured separately for 12 months

fruitcake character along with sweet

The overwhelming sweetness together with a hold energy message

Malbec can lack backbone so can be too sweet and stems can help to build the backbone

This is one of those very rare wines that so beautifully straddles the pinnacles of hedonic and the cerebral experiences

Boekenhoutskloof Porseleinberg Swartland Syrah 2016 Groot Constantia The two components were maturedThe Porseleinberg Estate in Swartland owned by the famous Boekenhoutskloof wine brand. 100% whole bunch fermented, two months in concrete eggs and foudre. There is something flinty and slaty about the nose, a wild, earthy character, with the florals continuing, lots of tannin, a bit of rustic grip, but such a lovely mouthfeel, juicy but with an authenticity and touch of roughening edges that finishes spicy and long.
