Rosedale Chimney Bank Trail - Moors on Wheels moors-on-wheels We leave the carpark andThis walk heads off along the old Iron Railway to Sherriffs Pit, a disused mine shaft on the west side of Rosedale. The views are magnificent, as the valley drops steeply away to your right with Rosedale nestled quaintly in the bottom. Walking through heather moorland on both sides the chatter of local birds including the curlew, golden plover, lapwing and nightjar are evident. Yet 160 years ago the air would have been full of soot and steam, with
