2017 - JEAN MAX ROGER - Sancerre Rouge Vieilles Vignes, Loire Valley Jura It's an elegant winePinot Noir from 45 year old vines planted on Kimmeridgian marls soils. Grapes are handpicked and fermented with natural yeast before a short post ferment maceration to smooth out the tannins. The wine is aged in 400L barrels for 12 months before bottling, and a further ageing of 10 years at the estate. A deep red colour with intense aromas or violets, red cherry and black currant. The palate is generous, with concentrated fruit and firm but silky
