The pattern on the earrings is made to resemble the braiding of tatami mats, a type of flooring in traditional (as well as still many modern) homes. We associated the sliding of a paperpanel door, light taps of bare feet in the night and the very specific smell of these mats with the pattern, something, that with enough fantasy led to some
