As they had to withstand a lot of punishment in transit, they were exceptionally well made. Constructed from Teak, Rosewood or Jackfruit wood they were made to order by skilled carpenters. Depending on rank, these were re enforced with corners of brass or iron. Our pieces are mostly from the 19thC
