This sitting Mandalay Buddha is made in the traditional way from carved teak wood which is then red lacquered and gilt finished. This Buddha dates to the middle of the Mandalay period, circa 1910. The Mandalay period was between 1853 1948 and ended with Burmese independence from The British. Buddha here has beautiful detailing with painted glass eyes and robes inlaid with precious
