These pots were well cared for and in constant use. This piece dates to the early 20th century and has been beautifully constructed using brass and teakwood which has developed a great patina with age. The opening has been lined with brass and would have had a lid which has long since been lost. Similar examples can also be found in 'Arts & Crafts of Rajasthan' by A Nath & F Wacziarg, page 125.
