The leaves are heart shaped and peltate (the leaf stalk appears in the middle of the leaf not the base). The leaves and vines are fine in full sun, but the caudex could get sunburn in harsh summer sun. As it comes from tropical Asia it prefers to be kept at 50 degrees or more year round. It may go dormant if kept in overly dry or overly cool
