Each pot is hand turned on a simple lathe, with layers of natural lacquer applied and then intricately scratched to reveal the contrasting design beneath. The bold black background and warm yellow floral motifs are typical of Rajasthans lacquerware tradition. Originally, pots like these were used for storing bindithe
