Roger Guerin Bouffioulx Lion Stoneware Tile Gres Guerin Cowboy Photographed for the 4 volumeA tile from Belgium c. 1930 by Roger Guerin Bouffioulx. Marked Gres Guerin Bouffioulx, it shows a lion in a blue lustre glaze trimmed in gold. Measures 4" square and 3 4" thick and made from a durable stoneware body. From Bonhams: Roger Gurin was Belgian potter from the village of Bouffioulx. He started his own workshop in 1918 with his son Jules Guerin taking over in about 1945. Dating seems to be a problem, generally accepted that incised "R Guerin"
