A 247th Infantry Battalion "Victoria and Haliburton Battalion/Die Hards" Cap Badge consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac reverse engraved "PRESENTED TO JOHNIn pickled copper, unmarked, measuring 39. 5 mm (w) x 41. 5 mm (h), both lugs intact, very light contact, near extremely fine. Footnote: The Battalion was raised in Central Ontario with mobilization headquarters at Peterborough under the authority of G. O. 48, May 1, 1916. The Battalion was under the command of Lieutenant Colonel C. H. Ackerman. The Battalion was absorbed into the 236th Infantry Battalion. It was disbanded on September 15, 1920.
