A Pilot’s Badge, Type 3, by Brüder Schneider consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac engraved "MCPL T E MATTSSON"(Flugzeugfhrerabzeichen). Constructed of nickel silver and tombak, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, overlaid by a swooping Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, the reverse with two visible rivets securing the eagle in position, with a wide barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, featuring a full makers mark of BRDER SCHNEIDER A.
