Three piece construction, centrepiece insignia in bronze gilt with red, white and blue enamels, the insignia centering a silver gilt wreath with cross and backed by crossed swords, the four arms of the cross bearing the Franco crown, two facing lions and a castle, mounted to a silver eight pointed star base, each star point with five pairs of faceted rays, with a single pair of faceted rays between each star
