Clos Rougeard, near Chace in Saumur Champigny, made Cabernet Franc into a vin de garde long before the region was fashionable. Les Poyeux comes from older vines on a gentle south facing slope of eroded sandstone over tuffeau in Chac, one of the estate's great single vineyard cuves, aged in barrel for depth and length. The 2007 was a cooler, lighter vintage, so this is a graceful, fully
