The cap is fully surrounded by decorative scalloped side panels, trimmed by red piping and secured in place by a row of machine stitching. Stitched onto the left side of the cap is an insignia in the form of a gilded and silvered edelweiss, measuring 52 mm (w) x 28 mm (h).
