It has subtle vertical stripes with slightly irridescent grid stripes (horizontal) when the light catches it in certain ways. The color is a classic midnight blue, with khaki toned stripes (PANTONE 19 3920, 14 1210 ish). Make a beautiful trench, safari jacket, utility jacket, etc. Test first if you'd like to try machine washing.
