The fine black vertical hairline stripes are 1" apart, and the base color is soft white. For shirts, tunics, tops, dresses, etc. It doesn't have much stretch, so you could get away with mixing the direction of the stripes if you wish. Hand or machine wash cold, separately, hang to dry (please test first). 2. 625
